Warriors Outpace Golden Bears in Non-Conference Victory

Babson Park, FL – Webber International Women's Basketball put together a complete wire-to-wire performance on Friday afternoon, rolling past visiting Clinton College (S.C.) 81–46 at home to move back to .500 on the season at 4–4.

The Warriors seized control early, racing out to an 18–7 lead after the first quarter behind efficient offense and pressure defense that forced eight early turnovers. Webber turned the game into a rout in the second period, outscoring Clinton 24–5 to build a 42–12 advantage at the break. The Warriors held the visitors to just two made field goals in the frame and repeatedly turned steals into points in transition.

Clinton found some rhythm coming out of halftime and edged the third quarter 23–17, but Webber had an answer in the fourth, closing the game with a 22–11 final stanza and stretching the margin to as many as 38 points with just over three minutes remaining. For the afternoon, the Warriors shot 42.7 percent from the field (32-for-75) and 36.8 percent from beyond the arc (7-for-19), while limiting Clinton to 27.8 percent shooting and only two three-pointers.
