Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Women's Basketball team played #6 Saint Francis (Ind.) close through three quarters, but the Cougars used a big second half to pull away from the Warriors on Friday afternoon.
The Cougars and Warriors were locked in early, with Saint Francis taking a 14-9 edge after the first quarter before Webber answered with a strong 17-point second to go into halftime down just one, 27-26.
Saint Francis seized control coming out of the break, outscoring Webber 15-8 in the third quarter to stretch the margin to 42-34. The visitors then put the game away with a 22-10 fourth quarter, pushing the lead as high as 27 late in the final period.
Jaiden Ross paced Webber with 11 points, while Isabel Negron added eight points on a perfect 3-for-3 shooting night. Sophya Barreiro contributed seven points and three steals, and Danshelle Mickel chipped in five.
For Saint Francis, Isabella Gizzi, Cali Gregory, and Taylor Fordyce each scored 12 points, while Renna Schwieterman added 11 points and six rebounds.
