Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Women's Basketball dropped to a hot-shooting Faulkner side, 78–64, on Friday afternoon. The Warriors trailed 35–24 at halftime after the Eagles canned six first-quarter threes and used a 15–6 second frame to create separation. Webber responded with a big third quarter (29–27) to trim the margin to single digits heading to the fourth before Faulkner closed it out late.
Janaina Gonçalves jump-started the Warriors with six early points, and Webber briefly led after a Jaiden Ross jumper, but Faulkner's perimeter barrage made it 20–18 after one. The Eagles continued to heat up from distance before the break, taking an 11-point edge to the locker room. Webber surged out of halftime behind Camryn Patterson's eight third-quarter points and a 29-point team period, cutting the deficit to 62–53. The Eagles answered with timely threes and free throws in the final stanza to keep the Warriors at arm's length.
Patterson paced Webber with 16 points on 5-of-6 shooting (1-for-2 3PT) and 5-for-5 at the line, adding six rebounds and three assists. Gonçalves posted 12 points, four boards, and four assists. Ross filled the stat sheet with eight points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals, while Isabel Negrón added eight points, four rebounds, two steals, and a block. The Warrior bench contributed 20 points, highlighted by Sophya Barreiro's seven and Jiyah Hamilton's four.
Webber shot 41.1% from the field and 87.5% at the stripe (14-of-16) but finished 4-for-19 from deep. The Warriors turned defense into offense with 22 points off turnovers and nine team steals, yet were outrebounded 35–22. Faulkner's shooting proved decisive: 53.8% from three (14-of-26) and 48.1% overall, led by Morgan Holland DeWitt (17 pts, 9 reb) and Ruthie Smith (17 pts, five threes).
