Georgetown, KY – The Webber International Women's Basketball team dropped the first game of its Kentucky trip on Monday evening, falling 115–67 to undefeated Georgetown inside Davis Reid Alumni Gym. The Warriors move to 1–2 on the season, while the Tigers improved to 7–0 behind a hot shooting night and a dominant effort on the glass.
Georgetown came out firing, forcing turnovers and turning them into easy points in transition to build a 28–7 lead after the opening 10 minutes. The Tigers continued to apply pressure in the second quarter, extending their advantage to 52–21 at halftime as Webber struggled to find a rhythm offensively, shooting just 2-for-13 from the field in the first quarter while committing 10 turnovers.
Webber responded after the break with its best offensive stretch of the night, pouring in 27 third-quarter points. Jaiden Ross and Adaya Montalvo helped spark the surge, attacking the lane and knocking down perimeter shots to keep the Warriors battling. Webber added 19 more points in the fourth but Georgetown's depth and shooting carried the hosts, as the Tigers closed with 41 points in the final frame to put the game out of reach.
Ross led the Warriors with 14 points, adding two rebounds, a block and a steal. Montalvo came off the bench for 12 points, including a pair of threes, while Isabel Negron and Camryn Patterson each finished with 10 points; Patterson also collected a team-high eight rebounds and two assists. Taleah Jones chipped in eight points off the bench as Webber's reserves combined for 29 points. As a team, the Warriors shot 43.8 percent from three (7-for-16), but 23 turnovers and a 56–29 rebounding deficit proved too much to overcome against a Georgetown side that shot 50.6 percent from the floor and turned Webber's miscues into 26 points.
