Babson Park, FL — The Webber International Women's Volleyball team strung together timely serving, improved efficiency, and a sturdy block to finish a clean 3–0 sweep of Ave Maria on Friday night, 25–22, 25–21, 28–26. The win moves the Warriors to 6–15 (3-4 SUN) while the Gyrenes drop to 5–9 (4–3 SUN) after the league tilt at the Sabbagh Athletic Center.
After falling behind 21–15 in the opener, Webber ripped off a 9–1 close highlighted by a Naylim Andrews ace and four straight points on Ave Maria errors and blocks to flip the set, 25–22. The Warriors tightened the screws again in the second, using a 6–0 surge—paced by kills from Hailey Mull and Anna Morton plus a Cancio/Morton stuff—to push out to 19–14 and finish 25–21 on a Vivianne Cancio block.
Set three was a tug-of-war with 14 ties. Ave Maria held set point at 24–23 and 26–25, but Webber answered each time. Alejandra Aponte delivered a late ace for 26–25, and Kaylee Hunt slammed the last two kills to seal it 28–26. Webber hit .395 in the third (18–3–38) as the offense found top gear when it mattered most.
Webber hit .172 for the match (41–18–134) with six aces and an 8.0 team blocks night, while holding Ave Maria to .121 with two aces. The Warriors' back row stacked 59 digs to stabilize transition late in each set. Attendance was 105; first serve was at 6:00 p.m. in Babson Park.
