Warriors Drop Tight Road Contest to Mighty Banyans

Bradenton, Fla. — Webber Women's Volleyball went the distance on Wednesday night but fell in five sets to New College of Florida, 3–2, (25–16, 27–29, 17–25, 25–19, 8–15). The Warriors jumped ahead with a dominant first set and forced a deciding fifth with a strong response in the fourth, but the hosts closed it out late behind timely serving.

Webber opened fast, siding out at a high clip and rolling to a 25–16 win in the first. The second set turned into a marathon—tied deep into extra points—before NCF escaped, 29–27, to even the match. The momentum swung further toward the home side in the third, 25–17, as the Warriors' attack cooled.

Refusing to fold, Webber answered with a composed fourth set, 25–19, riding balanced offense and clean first contacts to push the match to a fifth. In the race to 15, the Warriors hung within striking distance until the closing stretch when the Mighty Banyans sealed it with a pair of late service aces to take the set, 15–8.
