Warriors fall to Ave Maria

Ave Maria, FL – The Webber International Women's Basketball team faced a tough defeat against Ave Maria University, falling 85-46. The Warriors struggled offensively, shooting 28.3% from the field, and were unable to counter Ave Maria's dominant inside game and bench contributions.

The Warriors started the game well, shooting 43.8% in the first quarter to keep the game close. Neri Moreau led Webber with 15 points, while J Curry added 11 points. However, Ave Maria took control in the second quarter, shooting 55.6% and building a double-digit lead heading into halftime.

Ave Maria's Colleen Shanahan led the way with a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Gianna Santacroce scored a game-high 25 points, including four three-pointers. Ave Maria dominated on the boards, out-rebounding Webber 57-29 and scoring 52 points in the paint.

The Warriors fought to regain momentum in the third quarter, but their efforts were hindered by 18 turnovers, which Ave Maria converted into 22 points. Webber's offense faltered in the fourth quarter, managing just 6.7% shooting from the field as Ave Maria pulled away.
