Warriors Lose Sixth Straight in Loss to Banyans

Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Men's Basketball team fell in a close battle to SUN opponent New College of Florida, losing 82-75. Despite a stellar performance from Orlando Thomas, who led all scorers with 24 points, Webber was unable to overcome a hot-shooting New College team in the second half.

The first half was tightly contested, with both teams trading leads. Webber shot 48.4% from the field and went a perfect 7-for-7 from the free-throw line. Thomas scored 15 of his 24 points in the opening half, while Khalyl Simmons added 10 points, including two three-pointers. New College was led by Charlie Yoder, who contributed 13 first-half points, helping to trim the Warriors halftime lead to 40-37.

In the second half, New College found their rhythm offensively, shooting a blistering 60% from the field. Yoder continued his dominance, finishing with 22 points and 7 rebounds, while Jordan Clark added 20 points and 6 assists. Diego Eslava was lethal from beyond the arc, hitting 5-of-9 three-pointers to tally 19 points.

Webber fought hard to stay in the game, with Simmons contributing 19 points, including 3-of-7 from three-point range. Jordan Golden provided a spark off the bench with 10 points and 6 rebounds, while Zachary O'Callaghan added 9 points and a team-high 9 rebounds. However, Webber's 32.4% shooting in the second half and costly turnovers allowed New College to pull away.

Key stats included New College's efficiency from the free-throw line, hitting 20-of-25 attempts, compared to Webber's 14-of-14. New College also edged Webber in rebounding, 37-34, and converted 12 points off turnovers to maintain control.
