Jordan's "Golden Moment" Lifts Warriors over Mariners in Late Game Thriller

Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Men's Basketball team welcome the College of Coastal Georgia Mariners to Jessica Costanzo Court for a SUN Saturday Matinee matchup. After leading for a majority of the game, the Warriors found themselves trailing deep into the second half before Jordan Golden played hero, beating the buzzer to give Webber an 83-82 victory, snapping a six-game losing streak.

The Warriors set the tone in the first half, shooting 55.2% from the floor and building a double-digit lead behind Thomas and Jordan Golden, who contributed 15 points and 8 rebounds. Khalyl Simmons added 14 points off the bench, including key baskets in the second half. Webber's strong offensive efficiency was highlighted by their 62% shooting for the game, including 71.4% in the second half.

Coastal Georgia rallied late, led by Salle Wilson, who scored a game-high 30 points and was perfect at the free-throw line down the stretch. Kaden McArthur chipped in with 16 points and 5 assists, while the Mariners' bench added 26 points, keeping the game close until the final buzzer. The Mariners took the lead with 12 seconds left in the second half. After a block put the Warriors underneath the basket, Zachary O'Callaghan found Golden, who took a shot from the paint, and after bouncing around, the ball fell in at the buzzer, lifting the Warriors to a victory and taking the wind out of the Mariners sails.

The Warriors overcame some challenges, including 16 turnovers, and held their composure during Coastal Georgia's late-game push. Despite shooting just 56% from the free-throw line, Webber's clutch scoring in the paint and solid ball movement including 17 assists proved decisive.
