Warriors Fall in AAC Semifinals

Marietta, GA – The Webber International Men's Lacrosse team traveled to Marrietta, Georgia to take on the Keiser Seahawks in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Semifinals. A close game from the very beginning, despite the Warriors' continued efforts they were unable to hold onto an early lead and fell to the Seahawks 12-10. 

The first goal of the game was scored by Keiser, but Blake Nelson quickly answered back to tie it. The Seahawks scored two straight goals to take a 3-1 lead. Houston Finlayson would score for the Warriors off an assist from Chase Jackson. A caused turnover by Jackson set Cade McCarron up to tie the game 3-3. Kye McCarron would give the Warriors their first lead of the game, before Nelson scored again to make it 5-3. Keiser would get a last second goal to make it 5-4 heading into the second quarter.  

Keiser tied the game four minutes into the second quarter, but a goal from Alex West would give Webber the lead again. The Seahawks were able to tie the game at 6-6, before a goal with four and a half minutes left gave Keiser a 7-6 lead heading into halftime.  

Ryan Prylinski started the third quarter with multiple saves, but the Seahawks were able to get another shot past him to take an 8-6 lead. Christian Tapia found the back of the net to bring the Warriors within one. Jeremiah Loo scored a man-up goal with an assist from Jackson to retie the game at 8-8. The Seahawks scored once more in the third quarter to put the Warriors down 9-8 heading into the fourth. 

Tapia tied the game during a man-down opportunity for the Warriors, making it 9-9. Keiser retook the lead, but K. McCarron found the net again with an assist from Daniel McClure. The Seahawks would score twice more to take a 12-10 lead to the final buzzer. 

Jackson led the team with three points, all on assists. K. McCarron, Nelson, and Tapia each had two apiece all on goals. Joshua Cargile led the team with four ground balls, while Jackson had three. Jackson also led the team with three caused turnovers. In the goal. Prylinski made 15 saves. 

The Warriors will now await the NAIA Lacrosse Selection Show to see their next opponent.
