Warriors Wrap Up SUNC Play Against the Royals

Babson Park, FL – The 5th-ranked Webber International baseball team dropped game four to Warner. A strong third inning kept the Royals ahead as they took the final game of the series 6-3. With this, Webber finishes SUNC play 18-6. 

Jonathan Bautista got the start on the mound, as he pitched four innings, allowing five runs. Gabriel Dorsey came in for relief in the bottom of the 5th inning, pitching two shutout innings, and picking up three strikeouts. Danny Rodriguez took over in the bottom of the 7th inning, while Seth Lovell closed the show in the 8th.  

Joseph Becker and Richard Rodriguez led the Warriors offensively, picking up six of the Warriors' nine hits. Gabriel Cruz, Brodey Neveker, and Ryan Recio notched base knocks, as Neveker brought in all three runs for the Warriors.  

After a quick first inning, the Royals got on the board first with an RBI single. 

Becker got things started for the Warriors with a one-out single to right center. A fielder's choice coupled with an error put two on, before Recio loaded the bases with a single to left field. Neveker cleared the bases with a 3 RBI double, giving Webber a two-run lead. 

The Royals responded with four runs of their own to overtake the Warriors 5-3.  

Dorsey came in the top of the 4th inning leaving the Royals scoreless. The Warriors managed to get six runners aboard through the next four innings but were unable to convert. 

Warner brought in an insurance run in the bottom of the 8th inning to seal the win.  

Webber will wrap up the 2024 regular season at Brad Niethammer Field on Wednesday, April 24th for a mid-week double header against New College of Florida, first pitch is scheduled for 1 PM.
