Warriors Defeat Banyans For First 40 Win Season

Babson Park, FL – The 6th-ranked Webber Warriors continued their historic season by picking up their 40th regular season win for the first time in program history. Tyren Milliner picked up his 10th home run of the season, as Webber took game one 11-4. After a battle, WIU dropped game two 4-3.

GAME ONE: MILLINER LEADS WARRIORS TO 40TH WIN OF THE 2024 SEASON

Blayne Huter notched his ninth win of the season, as he pitched the first two innings. Huter struck out three batters as he managed two blank innings. Thomas Nelson and Manuel Meilan pitched the next four innings, before Zach Wagoner closed the game with a strikeout.

Tyren Milliner nearly hit a cycle, as he went 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs and a home run. Brodey Neveker added two hits, while three more Warriors added hits as the Warriors outhit the Banyans 10-0.

Huter wasted no time, picking up three straight outs in the top of the first inning. Ian Kalman took a five-pitch walk to put one runner on with one out. Milliner singled up the middle before Ryan Recio loaded the bases by getting hit by a pitch. A sac fly for Neveker scored Kalman, giving the Warriors a 1-0 lead. A wild pitch scored Milliner to extend the Warriors' lead. Richard Rodriguez doubled to center field to make it 4-0 for Webber,

In the top of the second inning, two strike outs and a pop up to the catcher kept the Banyans from scoring. A walk for Camren Carroll set Milliner up for a two-out RBI double. Recio followed suit with a single down the left side, scoring Milliner. Neveker made it 7-0 with a double through left center.

Thomas Nelson came in to pitch in the top of the third inning, sitting down his first three batters of the day. The Warriors responded with their 8th straight run off the bat of Camren Carroll.

NCOF brought three runs across in the top of the fourth inning to cut Webber's lead to five. This was no issue for the Warriors as a 2 RBI homerun for Milliner and an RBI single for Becker gave the Warriors their lead back.

Manuel Meilan picked up three looking strikeouts to keep the Banyans from adding runs in the top of the 5th inning. NCOF added their final run in the top of the 7th inning before a swinging strikeout for Wagoner closed game one.

GAME TWO: WARRIORS FALL TO BANYANS AFTER A MIGHTY 6TH INNING

Dylan Martin picked up his 300th career strikeout as he got the start on the mound in game two. One blank inning for the senior is all he needed to etch his name into the Webber record books. Seth Lovell gave up four runs in the top of the 6th inning as the Warriors fell to the Banyans 4-3.

Tyren Milliner, Richard Rodriguez, and Josh Blackmore all picked up RBIs in game two for Webber.

After giving up three hits, Dylan Martin managed three straight outs to keep the Banyans from scoring.

Richard Rodriguez singled through the right side, giving the Warriors the lead. Josh Blackmore brought a run around in the bottom of the 4th inning off a well hit ball to center field. Milliner doubled to left center to make it three unanswered runs for Webber.

Seth Lovell came in to pitch in the top of the 6th inning, giving up four runs on two hits. Danny Rodriguez came in to close the 6th inning as he recorded the third out. D. Rodriguez added another strikeout to his resume along with two fly outs to center field.
