Webber Takes Down #7 Bellevue 8-3

Babson Park, FL – The No. 12 Warriors take down No. 7 Bellevue in dominant fashion, as they held the Bruins to just three runs through nine innings. Webber was efficient as they put up eight runs on eight hits to improve to 19-3.

Blayne Huter got the start for the Warriors as he pitched six innings and struck out nine batters. Dylan Martin was in a new role as he came in for relief. Martin notched his first save as he pitched the final three innings and only allowed one run.

Ryan Recio led the Warriors as he went 3-for-four with one RBI and three runs. Bryan Morales went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a walk. Tyren Milliner, Brodey Neveker, and Camren Carroll added three more hits to the board.

The Bruins got on the board first with two quick runs before Joseph Becker grabbed the final out of the inning. Back-to-back hit-by-pitches put two on to start the bottom of the first as Milliner stepped up with a sac bunt to move runners into scoring position. Recio followed suit with a single over the first basemen to bring in the first run for the Warriors. An error loaded the bases as Neveker reached first base. Morales brought two runs in with a sac fly to center field. An error by the shortstop allowed Gaby Cruz on base before the Bruins got the final out of the inning.

After an inning-and-a-half a fielder's choice allowed Recio to score to extend the Warriors' lead to three. Huter managed two more shutout innings as a homerun for Tyren Milliner to put Webber up by four in the bottom of the fifth.

Huter added two more strikeouts to his resume to keep the Bruins from adding runs. Gaby Cruz led off the bottom of the sixth inning with a walk before a wild pitch and a stolen base put him in scoring territory before he was thrown out at home. Richard Rodriguez then reached on a fielder's choice before a single from Camren Carroll brought him around.

Dylan Martin came in to pitch in the seventh inning, where he managed another scoreless inning to keep the Warriors ahead. A two-out single for Recio and a stolen base put a runner in scoring position. Neveker singled through the left side to add another run for Webber.

After a scoreless inning, the Bruins got one more across before a Cruz-Rodriguez-Recio double play ends the game and gives Webber their 11th straight win.
Webber will be back in action tomorrow, March 8th at 1 PM as they host Morningside University.
