Babson Park, FL – The Webber International softball team battled through the final game of the series against Coastal Georgia. While the Warriors struck first, the Mariners took game three to grab the series. 

Taylor Thomas and Jenna Chaudoin split time in the circle. Thomas pitched the first 4.2 innings before Chaudoin came in to close the game.  

Thalia Romero continued her strong season as she started at first base and went 2-for4 with an RBI and a run. The freshman also totaled five putouts and an assist as the Warriors kept the #18 Mariners to just five runs.  

After four scoreless innings, the Warriors got on the board first with a sac fly from Samantha Hudson. The Mariners responded by bringing five runs across in the top of the fifth to take a four-run lead.  

Genesis Aviles got things rolling in the bottom of the fifth inning with an infield single to the shortstop. Paige Weinmann followed suit with a single to right center before Rachel Lamoureaux singled down the left side to bring Aviles around to score. Romero singled up the middle to make it 5-3 before the Mariners got the final out. 

Webber was able to get three on base in the bottom of the seventh inning, but fielder's choices kept the Warriors from converting.  

With this, the Warriors move to 2-3 in SUNC play. The Warriors will be back in action on Tuesday, March 26th as they head to Sarasota, FL to take on New College of Florida before heading across the street to battle the Crooked Lake rivals Warner on Wednesday and Thursday.
