Babson Park, FL – The No. 4 Warriors fell to No. 1 Southeastern 4-0. With this, Webber moves to 21-7 on the year and 4-4 in SUNC play.
Jonathan Bautista started for the Warriors as he pitched 6.1 innings and totaled seven strikeouts and only allowed two runs off eight hits. Danny Rodriguez came in first for relief and closed out the 7th inning with only one run coming across. Seth Lovell came into pitch in the top of the 8th inning and notched one out before Gabriel Dorsey finished the 8th and started the 9th inning. Brighton Taylor closed the show for the Warriors as he grabbed the last out in the 9th.
Ian Kalman led the Warriors offensively as he went 2-for-4. Camren Carroll, Ryan Recio, Joseph Becker, and Bryan Morales all added hits to the board.
Bautista got things going smoothly with a quick three-out inning. The Fire responded with a two-out hit by pitch to put Recio aboard before getting the final out of the inning.
A 6-4-3 double play got the Warriors out of the sticky top of the second. Morales responded with a single through the right side, before a fielder's choice allowed him to advance. The Fire centerfielder grabbed the last out of the inning to keep it scoreless.
Bautista managed another quick inning as he sat down three consecutive batters. Carroll got on base with a single up the middle. Kalman followed with a single through the left side to put to on before the Fire got the third out.
After another scoreless inning, the Fire got one through in the top of the 5th inning. The Warriors were unable to respond as SEU added a run in the three final innings to take the 4-0 win.
Webber will be back in action next weekend as they head to West Palm Beach, FL to take on the Keiser Seahawks.
