Miami Gardens, FL – The Webber International University battled through the second round of the Sun Conference tournament, Friday night. After a tough fight, Webber falls to (RV) St. Thomas 87-54. 

Eden Holt led the Warriors with 14 points, two assists and one rebound. Orri Hilmarsson added 13 to the board along with two rebounds, and a steal. Jordan Golden led the defense with six rebounds. The Junior notched a steal and an assist coupled with two points. 

The Bobcats got on the board first with two points before Dante Sofia evened the score with a jumper. A triple from Sofia made it a one-point game before Holt grabbed 13 of the next 19 points for the Warriors. Gavin Buchanon spearheaded the the final five minutes of the first half with four points to send Webber to the break down 25. 

The second half opened with three-pointers from Cooper Peterson and Orri Hilmarsson in addition to a layup from Holt. STU went on a 15-5 run before Hilmarsson sank a shot from downtown to change the momentum. Webber then went on a 12-13 run through the final six minutes but were unable to regain the lead. 

The Warriors will be awating Thursday, March 7th as that is when the selection committee will announce the 64 teams that will compete for the Red Banner.
