Babson Park, FL – The No. 5 Webber Warriors fell to the Florida Southern Moccasins in both games of the double head (4-1, 3-2). With this, Webber moves to 0-4 on the year and 0-1 in SUNC play.
Abigail Baxter and Delanie Johnson got things started for the Warriors in game one as they won 2-0 as the four seed. The two pairs battled through set one as Webber came out with the 23-21 to lead 1-0. Baxter and Johnson worked diligently to take set two 21-18 and put the Warriors up 1-0.
Nadia Reid and Keirsten Tisdale fought tirelessly in the two seed. The paid took set one 21-19 before the Mocs came back to even the score at one a piece. Both teams traded points, but the Mocs came out with the 2-1 win at two.
Kendall Steinert and Leyni Young played as the threes. The pair dropped set one 21-15 before battling back to take set two 21-18 to force a decisive third, which the Mocs took 15-13. The Warriors battled through the other two pairs before falling to the Mocs 4-1 in game one.
In game two, Nadia Reid and Keirsten Tisdale won in straight sets as the two seed, 21-14,24-22. Kendall Steinert and Leyni Young put away the Mocs third seed with two swift sets, 21-10, 21-11.
The Warriors fought through the other three matches, but Florida Southern came out with three wins to take the match 3-2.
Webber will be back in the sand on Friday, March 1st as they are set to host Truett McConnell and St. Andrews starting at 9:30 AM.
