Four in Double Figures Helps the Warriors Win on Senior Night

Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Men's Basketball team ended the regular season with a double-digit win over the (RV) St. Thomas Bobcats. Four Warriors notched double digits as WIU finishes out the regular season 19-9 and 7-7 in SUNC play.

Eden Holt led the team tonight as an offensive force with 14 points and seven assists. The Junior was also notable on defense as he grabbed two rebounds and two steals. Gavin Buchanon had a stellar game, netting 13 points, and totaling four rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Jordan Golden led the team defensively with eight rebounds and three blocks. The Land O' Lakes, FL native added 12 points and an assist to the board. Orri Hilmarsson garnered 11 points, four rebounds, one assist, and one steal.

St. Thomas got on the board first with a quick three-pointer. Cooper Peterson responded with a triple of his own to even the score. The Bobcats made one free throw before the Warriors went on a 12-4 run over the next five minutes.

Hilmarsson scored six of Webber's next 19 points as the Warriors kept ahead of STU 35-27 with two minutes left in the half. A layup from Golden and free throws from Holt sent the Warriors to the break up 10.

The second half started in similar fashion as STU sunk a three that was matched with one from Dante Sofia. A Bobcat layup was then met with a jumper from Holt to keep the lead. Golden netted seven points over the next seven minutes as WIU went on a 15-8 run.

The Warriors earned themselves a trip to Wendys as they went 4-for-4 over the next four minutes. Zachary O'Callaghan netted five of Webber's final 20 points, while buckets from Golden, Buchanon, and Jovon Rosse sealed the deal on the 16-point victory.

The Warriors will be back on the courts on Tuesday, March 5th as they battle through the Sun Conference tournament on their trek for the Red Banner.
