Rachel Lamoureaux Named to NFCA All-Tournament Team as the Warriors Wrap Up Their Weekend in Columbus, GA

Columbus, GA– The Webber International softball team traveled to compete in the NFCA Leadoff classic over the weekend. Rachel Lamoreaux was named to the NFCA all-tournament team. After battling through five tough games, the Warriors came home 0-5.

DAY ONE 

GAME ONE: WARRIORS KEEP GRIZZLIES TO JUST 3 RUNS 

The Warriors opened the weekend playing #4 Georgia Gwinnett at 11 AM. Jenna Chaudoin got the start and pitched an impressive game as she held the Grizzlies to only three runs. Hannah Booth got the solo RBI for Webber as she brought in Rachel Lamoureaux to cut the deficit to two.  

Chaudoin had an incredible start as she pitched two perfect innings before the Grizzlies pulled three across in the top of the 3rd. Webber then responded with a run of their own off the bat of Booth. Chaudoin worked swiftly through the next four innings, two of which she only faced three pitchers. 

GAME TWO: WEBBER FALLS TO LOUISIANA CHRISTIAN 

Reigning Sun Conference Freshman of the Year, Taylor Thomas, started game two, where she pitched one inning and struck out two batters. The Wildcats brought in four quick runs in the first inning before the Warriors got the final out. Chloe Rayner finished the game with a strikeout and one walk as she only allowed three runs through five innings. Gracie Lopez hit a homerun in the top of the 6th for the only run for Webber.  

DAY TWO: WARRIORS DROP TO (RV) TRUETT MCCONNELL AND GEORGETOWN

Jenna Chaudoin started in the circle for Webber and pitched 4.2 innings with one strikeout. Megan Hoskins, Abigayle Ellison, and Isabelle Patterson all got some time in the circle as well. Rachel Lamoureaux and Paige Weinmann both had RBIs as a single for Lamoureaux brought in two runners in the bottom of the first, while Weinmann was hit by a pitch to bring in another run. The Bears then brought across eight more runs through the next four innings to take the 11-4 win.  

Taylor Thomas saw herself in the circle to start game four, where she pitched 2.2 innings, collected five strikeouts, and allowed seven runs. Chloe Rayner and Isabelle Patterson both came in for relief. Rayner say 1.2 innings as she only allowed three runs. Patterson finished the game with one run allowed.  

Sam Hudson, Paige Weinmann, and Kimmie Cheung all had RBIs in the game. Hudson had a sacrifice flyout to bring in Gracie Lopez in the 1st inning. Cheung then singled and brought in Weinmann to make it 2-0 for the Warriors. Weinmann Ringled in the 5th inning to bring in Sam Hudson to cut the deficit to five before the Tigers scored three more to take the game.  

DAY THREE: WARRIORS FALL TO JOHNSON 

Jenna Chaudoin got the final start of the weekend as she pitched 6.2 innings before Taylor Thomas came in for a single out. Chaudoin had four strikeouts as three runs came across for the Royals. Thomas also allowed three runs. Logan Fennell took the lead with a grand slam to make it 4-2 in the top of the 6th. A double for Lopez brought in another run for the Warriors to make it 5-2. The Royals got the walk off with a double 2 RBI in the bottom of the 7th.  

Webber will be back in action on Thursday, February 19th as they head to Hialeah, FL to take on Florida National in a doubleheader starting at 2 PM.
