Winter Park, FL – The Webber International Warriors faced a challenging matchup against NCAA Division II foe Rollins College on Monday night, falling 93-50. Despite a hard-fought effort, the Warriors were unable to match Rollins' strong offensive performance, particularly in key stretches of the game.
In the first quarter, Rollins set the tone early, shooting an impressive 52.4% from the field. The Tars' balanced attack, led by Kaitlyn Sanders' early three-point shooting, helped them take a 26-11 lead. Webber struggled offensively, shooting 29.4% as they worked to establish their rhythm.
The Warriors responded with more energy in the second quarter, as Renae Brant and J Curry knocked down key shots to keep the team competitive. Webber shot 28.6% from three, and their defensive intensity picked up, limiting Rollins to 38.1% shooting. However, Rollins' ability to hit from beyond the arc – including four second-quarter three-pointers – extended their lead to 42-20 at halftime.
The third quarter saw Rollins pull away, fueled by a blistering 63.6% from three-point range, as they went 7-for-11 beyond the arc. The Warriors showed life offensively, with Jaiden Ross leading the effort and grabbing crucial rebounds. Webber shot their best percentage of the game, 50% from the field, but Rollins' offensive surge widened the gap to 73-36 heading into the final frame.
In the fourth quarter, the Warriors struggled to find their shooting touch, going just 3-for-20 from the field and 0-for-4 from deep. Rollins slowed their pace but remained efficient on the boards, securing 25 second-chance points for the game. Despite the effort from Webber's bench, Rollins maintained control to close out the 93-50 victory.
Webber was led by Renae Brant with 13 points, followed by Jaiden Ross, who contributed 10 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 steals. J Curry added 8 points and 5 rebounds. Rollins was paced by Kaitlyn Sanders' 19 points, while their bench chipped in 49 points to seal the win.
The Warriors will be back in action on Wednesday, December 18th when they host another NCAA foe, this time in the Division I Longwood University Lancers at Jessica Costanzo Court at 2 P.M.
