Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Women's Volleyball team played two non-conference matchups against the Florida National Conquistadors and the Florida College Falcons on Wednesday and Thursday. The Warriors battled tough, including take the Falcons to set five on the road, but were unable to come up with a victory, dropping both matches.
The Warriors lost the first set to the Conquistadors 25-22. Nadia Reid, Kaylee Hunt, Delanie Johnson, and Daphne Wibranowski led the Warriors in kills in the first set. Luci Marinella and Johnson combined for a block, while Marinella and Abby Leonard each had multiple assists.
Webber won the second set in dominant fashion, winning 25-11. Hunt, Johnson, Wibranowski, and Rylee Bolser led the Warriors in kills.
The Warriors dropped sets three and four 27-25, and 25-23.
Hunt and Johnson led the team with 12 kills apiece. Abigail Baxter, Marinella, and Hunt all had one service ace, while Johnson led the team with nine blocks. Marinella had 23 assists, and Baxter had 23 digs.
The Warriors traveled to Temple Terrace to take on the Falcons on Thursday evening. They fought hard with the Falcons, ultimately falling short in five sets, 3-2.
Reid led the Warriors with 11 kills, while Hunt and Wibranowski had eight. Marinella led the team with 24 assists, while Reid led with 16 digs, marking another double-double, and surpassing the 1000 career point mark.
The Warriors will be back in action on Saturday, October 26th when they host the Florida Memorial Lions in Babson Park.
