Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Women's Soccer team saw their offense come alive in Wednesday afternoon's match against the Florida National Conquistadors. The Warriors put together a complete match, scoring four goals in the second half, and dominating all 90 minutes of action, earning their second victory of the season 5-1 over the Conquistadors.
The Warriors jumped out in front quickly in the 12th minute with Olof Sigurdardottir, making her first start of the season. Holly Tyrell found Sigurdardottir in the middle of the pitch and Olof delivered a thunderous shot from outside the box to put the Warriors up 1-0. The Warriors would tally 11 shots in the first half, pushing the Conquistadors defense to the brink throughout the half. Despite the continued offensive pressure, the Conquistadors would find the equalizer in the 33rd minute with a counter attacking goal from Delmis Reyes Amaya. The score would be tied going into halftime, but the Warriors would have different plans for the second half of action.
Less than a minute into the second half the Warriors would pull in front, and this time for good, with Yerika Pereira, stealing the ball off the backline and scoring her first goal of the match to put the Warriors ahead 2-1. The Warriors would have another great half with scoring chances totaling 22 shots towards goal. It would be continuous offensive pressure from the entire Warriors team for the whole second half of action. In the 78th minute, the Warriors would start to pile on the goals. Rylee Bolser would find herself on the end of a magnificent cross from Ariana Suarez, and put a head on the cross to find the bottom corner of the goal. Two minutes later, Solimar Hernandez would add on another goal for the Warriors with a rebound shot right in front of goal to make it 4-1. Hernandez would add on assist to her tally, setting up Pereira with her second goal of the match in the 88th minute to put the icing on the cake and giving the Warriors the 5-1 dominant victory in Babson Park.
The Warriors next match will be this Saturday, October 26th, down in Miami Gardens, FL against the St. Thomas University Bobcats at 11:00 AM.
