Lake Wales, FL - The Webber International men's soccer team faced the Warner Royals Wednesday evening in the Battle of Crooked Lake. A strong defensive front on both sides left the score blank, as the Warriors improve to 1-3-1 in SUN conference play.

The Royals broke away quickly, taking a shot in the 3rd minute, which was saved by
Ben Parkinson. The Warriors responded with a header by
Alex Tarway that was saved by Warner, followed by a Matthew Loo shot that went high. After swapping fouls, Warner earned the first yellow card of the game. In the 28th minute, Tarway sent a shot into the arms of the Warner goalie. The Royals collected their first yellow card in the 28th minute.
Ruben Marquez took shots in the 29th and the 37th minute, both of which were saved by the Royals. Tarway took the final shot in the first half for the Warriors in the 48th minute.

Warner opened the second half by earning a yellow card less than four minutes in.
Sebastian Lago and
Rodrigo Catala each took shots in the 57th minute, both of which were saved by the Royals' goalie. Warner took their first shot of the second half in the 59th minute, before earning a yellow card. The Warriors then took three consecutive shots by
Christian Cordova, Loo and Lago, two of which were saved by Warner. A foul by Webber in the 70th minute set up Warner for a shot, which was blocked by the Warriors defense. The Royals took two shots in the 74th minute, both of which were saved by Parkinson. Webber ended the game with two more shots, both of which were saved, leaving the score 0-0.

The Warriors totaled 14 shots, with Tarway leading with three, while Parkinson garnered four saves on the day.

Webber will be back in action on Saturday, September 30th as they are set to take on the Southeastern Fire at 1 PM.
