Babson Park, FL - The Webber International University mens soccer team went up against #17 Keiser University Seahawks, which resulted in a loss for the Warriors 3-1. This moves their record to 2-5-1 overall and 1-3 in the Sun Conference.
The Warriors took the lead early in the match with
Ruben Marquez found the back of the net just over 10 minutes into the match. Keiser got one shot off before the Warriors fouled a Seahawk player, which created a penalty kick for them. Keiser capitalized on this opportunity and tied the ga,e up 1-1. The Warriors got off three more shots in the first half while the Seahawks got off four more shots.
Keiser got the first shot off of the second half, but it went wide. The Seahawks did not back down as they got another goal for themselves 55 minutes into the match. Keiser got off one more shot before
Sebastian Lago attwmpted to tie the match up, but it went wide. Both teams went quiet as no one took anymore shots until the Warriors fouled a Seahawk player again, which created another penalty kick opportunity for Keiser, which they capitalized on. The Warriors are now down 3-1 with 73 minutes on the clock. The Warriors did not give up as they attempted to decrease the deficit four more times before the game concluded with the Seahawks taking the victory.
Ben Parkinson spent the entire 90 minutes in the net making three saves. The Warriors offense had a total of nine shots in the match.
The Warriors travel across the lake next Wednesday, September 27th at 7pm where they will face the Warner University Royals for the Crooked Lake Rivalry.
