Babson Park, FL - The Webber International University men's soccer team kicked off Sun Conference play today against the #6 St. Thomas University Bobcats, which resulted in a 2-0 loss. This match will move the Warriors to a record of 1-3-1 overall and 0-1 in the Sun Conference.

The start of the match got competitive as both teams were fouling back-and-forth. The Bobcats took the first shot of the game 18 minutes in, but it went high. Just 45 seconds later, Thomas Guido Cacciabue of the Bobcats scored the first goal of the game. The Bobcats weren't finished as Osaghae Oghogho put another point on the board for the Bobcats just under four minutes later. St. Thomas took three more shots before
Sebastian Lago attempted to score for the Warriors, which went wide. The Bobcats got off two more shots before the half concluded with the Warriors trailing 2-0.

The second half was a defensive battle for both teams as the Warriors held the Bobcats scoreless but struggled to find the back of the net. Lago tried to shorten the deficit with a shot, but it was saved by Noel Brieden. St. Thomas fired back with a shot shortly after but was denied by
Ben Parkinson. Parkinson made another save for the Warriors five minutes later. Matthew Loo took another shot for the Warriors, which was picked up by The Bobcats goalkeeper. The Warriors got off two more shots before the match ended with the Bobcats taking home the win.

The Warriors concluded the game by tallying seven shots with four of them being on frame while Parkinson added three saves to his book.

The Warriors will continue with Sun Conference play on the road as they travel to Hardeeville, South Carolina, to play SCAD-Savannah Saturday, September 13th, at 3pm.
