WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (February 16, 2023) – The Webber International University women's lacrosse team traveled to face No. 4 Keiser University in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday afternoon. The Warriors kept it close in the first half, but the Seahawks' high-powered offense took over in the second half in a 22-7 defeat for Webber.

The Seahawks (1-0 overall) heavily outshot the Warriors (1-1 overall), 44-16 in total and 37-13 in shots on goal.

Webber drew first blood in the game after
Makayla Senter found the back of the net off of a pass from
Bryce Gerber, less than a minute in. The Seahawks then scored four in a row to establish a 4-1 lead. A solo-goal from Gerber cut the deficit in half.

Another individual effort from Gerber earned a second goal and third for the Warriors as they trailed, 7-3. Trailing 9-3, yet another solo-goal by Gerber followed by a goal from
Sydney Britton just 18 seconds later cut the Seahawks' lead back to four at 9-5. Senter scored the final goal of the half for the Warriors on a pass from
Kaitlyn Patterson, cutting Keiser's lead to 11-6 at halftime.

The second half was all Seahawks, however, as Webber was outscored 5-1 in the third quarter and 6-0 in the fourth. The lone second-half goal was scored by Gerber, her fourth of the game.

Offensively, Gerber led the Warriors in both goals with four and assists with two for a total of six points. She added one ground ball, one caused turnover, and one draw control as well. Senter tallied two goals while Britton finished with one.
Jordyn Davidson spent all 60 minutes in the cage, recording 15 saves and leading the team in ground balls with six.

Madison Hamilton recorded an assist and added four ground balls and two draw controls, followed by
Reyanna Troupe with three ground balls. Patterson contributed with a team-high five draw controls and added two ground balls and a caused turnover.

Next up, the Warriors will host their Crooked Lake rivals and first-year program, Warner University, on Saturday, February 18th.
