Las Vegas, NV. - The Webber International Men's and Women's bowling team wrapped up their west coast trip on Thursday evening in the USBC Collegiate Shootout. The Warriors men's and women's team continued to impress with both squads earning top five finishes against stiff competition. The men's team would go on to win their championship match on day two defeating Wichita State to win the USBC Collegiate Shootout championship.

The Warrior men found success in another major tournament this weekend, led by senior bowler,
AJ Wolstenholme who placed seventh individually and earned all-tournament team honors boosting the Warriors squad into the top five overall. Wolstenholme dropped a game two high of 278 and averaged 226 through the tournament to lead the Warriors team. Sophomore bowler
Brandon Bohn finished right behind his fellow teammate in 11
th place individually with a game four high of 248. Bohn would average 221 pins through six games and dropped 1,328 pins total. The Warriors would finish in third place out of 48 teams through qualifying matches earning themselves a draw into the championship tournament bracket on day two. The Warriors would enter day two in group play with three other teams, Purdue, Newman, and Grand Canyon. After four games, the Warriors would finish in first place with 845 pins, and Purdue would follow just behind them with 818 pins with both squads advancing to the championship match. The Warriors would continue to play well as a team and earn the first-place spot knocking down 876 pins, beating out Wichita State in second place by 14 pins, to secure the championship.

The Warrior women would continue their streak of top ten finishes and secure a fifth place finish out of 33 teams on Thursday to finish out their week in Las Vegas. Jaqueline Witura earned another all-tournament team honors, finishing in second place individually with a game four high of 244 to lead the Warriors team. Witura averaged 217 per game and dropped 1,303 pins through six games of play.
Linda Himes followed up her all-tournament team honors in the Glenn Carlson Invitational with another top 10 finish, earning seventh place individually to bolster the
Warriors position in the top five overall. Himes would bowl a game one high of 224 and dropped 1,252 pins through six games to average 208 pins on the day. The Warriors also had great days for
Aliyah Alleyne and
Jenna Williams who finished right beside each other in the top 35 with only one pin separating the two Warriors final pin totals through six games. The Warriors collectively would finish in fifth place through qualifying and dropped 8,653 pins as team.

The Warriors will have a month of preparation time for their next tournament, traveling to Louisville, KY on January 20
th – January 21
st for the MSC Lynee Jordan Memorial and MSC Thomas Burns Memorial tournaments.
