Kingsport, TN — Webber's men's basketball secured a 68-61 road win over Bluefield on Saturday afternoon at the NAIA holiday tournament – the Show. Eden Holt and Cooper Peterson led the team with 19 and 11 points respectively as the Warriors improve to 6-1 on the season.  
  
The Warriors started slow, as they trailed the Rams 6-3 early. Tyrone Nesby connected on a free throw to open the scoring for the evening. Holt and Orri Hilmarsson scored the next five for the Warriors.  
 
Two free throws and a 3-point FG from Dante Sofia followed by another 3-point FG by Peterson gave WIU an 11-10 lead with 11:54 to play in the first.  
  
Peterson then grabbed three FTs to keep it a one-point game with just over nine minutes left in the half. The transfer senior went 3-3 in the first half on free throws and 2-5 from the field as he led the Warriors with 8 points in the first. A free throw by Zachary O'Callagan sent the Warriors to half time down 30-22.  

The Warriors came out hot in the second half, scoring a Nesby bucket within the first 12 seconds. As the game continued, the Warriors struggled to find the bottom of the net through the first five minutes of play in the second until a three-pointer by Hilmarsson made it a two-point game.  
  
Webber went on a 9-0 run to grab a two-point lead with just over 9 minutes left in the contest. Sofia, Holt and Nesby produced a 10-6 run over the next five minutes to extend the lead 56-53. A Jamar Ingram free throw sealed the deal as the Warriors were up seven as the clock ran down.  
  
The 68-61 victory earns WIU its first win over Bluefield as the Warriors join the Show for the first time.  

Webber will be back in action tomorrow morning as they take on the Oakland City Oaks tomorrow morning at 11:00 AM.
