Winter Haven, FL – Four Warriors drop double-digits as Webber defeats the Golden Eagles in a dominant fashion on Saturday afternoon. WIU moves to 5-1 on the season, as Jordan Golden grabs his second double-double of the season.
K'shun Stokes led the Warriors with 25 points, seven rebounds, and two steals. Eden Holt netted 17 points and four assists, while Tyrone Nesby IV had 14 points. Golden garnered 10 points, 10 rebounds, and two assists.
Holt started the Warriors' night off with a jumper. A great defensive possession forced a turnover, leading to a Nesby three-pointer to increase the lead to 5-0. Orri Hilmarsson and Nesby scored back-to-back to make it a 10-0 run for the Warriors.
The Warriors went on a 10-5 run over the next four minutes of play to keep the WIU lead to 10. A pair of triples by Stokes and Cooper Peterson kept the lead in double-digits. A three by Dante Sofia and a layup by Gavin Buchannon extended the lead to 30-16. Golden scored back-to-back layups to put the Warriors up by 16. The last four minutes saw two straight threes by Holt and a layup by Stokes to make it 45-33 at the half.
The Warriors opened the second half with another Nesby three. The Golden Eagles went on an 8-2 run to cut the lead to five with 16:56 left in the contest. The Warriors took over the next seven points to keep the Warriors up by 11. Two Holt free throws and a three-pointer by Jovon Rosse kept Webber in front halfway through the second half.
Webber netted nine straight points to keep the lead in double-digits, before a JBU three-pointer made it through. The Warriors went on a 10-8 run to end the game 82-65.
Webber will be back in action on Saturday, November 25th and 26th as the Warriors head to Kingsport, TN to compete in The Show tournament.
