West Palm Beach, FL – The Webber International University men's soccer team traveled away for Sun Conference play to take on #19 Keiser University Seahawks. The match was competitive for both teams, but the Warriors were unable to keep the Seahawks from taking the win 4-2. The Warriors are now 3-7-2 overall and 2-5-1 in the Sun Conference.
The Seahawks opened the match strong with a goal just two minutes into it. Ruben Marquez was the first Warrior to shoot the ball in an attempt to tie the match up but was denied by the Seahawks goalkeeper. The Warriors did not let off the brakes as they took six shots, four of which the Keiser goalkeeper made the save for. 31 minutes into the match, the Seahawks got another goal on the board for them, which extended the lead to 2-0. The Warriors stayed hungry for a goal as Jesus Sanchez played the ball for Noah Setterberg, who finished the job and put the Warriors on the board 2-1. Keiser got off one more shot before the half concluded with the Warriors trailing by one.
Matthew Loo started the second half off for the Warriors by tying the match with a goal. However, the Seahawks retaliated three minutes later with a goal for themselves. Ekil Prackel attempted to tie the game back up for the Warriors six minutes later, but it went wide. The Warriors got off four more shots before the match concluded with the Seahawks taking the match 4-2.
Ben Parkinson spent the entire 90 minutes in the net, facing 20 shots and making three saves.
The Warriors return to home turf next Wednesday, October 11th at 1:30pm to take on their Crooked Lake Rivals Warner University.
