Babson Park, FL – The Webber International men's soccer claims the Crooked Lake Clash trophy for the 12th straight matchup. In goal for the Warriors was Ben Parkinson who claimed the win with four saves.
The Royals broke away quickly with a shot in just over five minutes. The Warriors responded with a shot by Jesus Sanchez, which went wide. Following this, Ekil Prackel took the first Corner Kick of the game, before a goal by Sanchez gave the Warriors the 1-0 lead 8 minutes into the match. The Warriors then took five more shots before the Royals got another shot off, resulting in a save by Parkinson. Warner garnered their first goal of the game in the 40th minute to even the score 1-1 going into halftime.
After the break, the Warriors shot four straight before the Royals were awarded a corner kick. A foul by Warner in the 60th minute set up Ruben Marquez for a penalty kick of the season, which slid right past the Royals' goalie to make it 2-1 for the Warriors. The Warriors claimed the game-winner off the foot of Gabe Shelton in the 63rd minute. The Royals got their second goal of the match in the 70th minute to make the score 3-2.
Sanchez and Marquez led the Warriors in shots with four a piece, including three on goal for Marquez. Matthew Loo made three shots with two on goal. Joden Gallardo and Alex Tarway round out the shots for the Warriors with one each.
The Warriors will be back in action on Saturday, October 14th as they head to battle the 3rd ranked Bobcats of St. Thomas in Miami Gardens, FL.
