Warriors Defense Holds Strong in 28-10 Win Over The Night Hawks

Babson Park, FL – A strong offensive front coasts the Warriors past SUNC opponent Thomas on Saturday afternoon. Webber had one of their best performances of the season, accumulating nearly 300 yards of offense, and holding the Night Hawks to just 10 points.

The Warriors started strong out of the gate with a 58-yard touchdown pass from Trent Grotjan to Jordon Taylor just 29 seconds into the contest. Webber's defense remained dominant causing two Thomas punts in the first quarter. The second quarter started with a 40-yard Reagan Harrel punt to the Night Hawks' 30. A big stop by Tre' Mobley and Elijah Westbrooks set Logan Heath up for a 25-yard punt return – giving the Warriors the ball deep in Night Hawks territory. A Blake Birchler connection to Heath increased the momentum as the Warriors grabbed the 14-point lead with just over two minutes left in the half. Both teams would then punt back and forth before the Night Hawks would claim their first score of the game, making it 14-7 going into half time.

The second half started with a quick three-and-out as Tyron Washington, Ke'Youn Busby, Caden Morrell, and Joshua Jones forced Thomas to punt – yet again. The third quarter ended with the Warriors only allowing three more points, which would be the last the Night Hawks would score for the night.

A Terry Weems Jr. 26-yard touchdown run opened the fourth quarter and extended the Warriors lead to double digits. A sack for a loss of two yards by Khristian Hill forced Thomas to punt, giving Webber the ball back with over six minutes left in the contest. A second touchdown pass from Birchler completed to DJ Cloude closed the deal, giving the Warriors the 28-10 win.

Weems Jr. and Taylor led the Warrior offense with 101 yards combined. Kh. Hill grabbed 9 tackles, including a sack and a forced fumble. Jaren Muse, Jalen Williams, Elijah Westbrooks, and Busby each notched seven tackles apiece.

The Warriors will be back in action next Saturday as they travel to take on #6 Keiser at 6:00 PM
Webber will be back home next week as they are set to take on Thomas University for another SUNC matchup on Saturday, October 28th at 1:30 pm.
