Warriors Drop in Hard Fought Battle to #6 Keiser

Box Score West Palm Beach, FL - The Webber International football team traveled to take on the 6th ranked Keiser Seahawks on Saturday evening. After a tough battle, the Warriors dropped to the Seahawks 59-17. 
After Webber won the toss and elected to defer, an onside kick from Zachary Van Fleet gave the Warriors the ball at the Keiser 49 yard line. A 23-yard Trent Grotjan rush moved the Warriors deep into Seahawk territory. Terry Weems JR. set the Warriors in field goal range with a seven yard rush to the KU21. Van Fleet put the Warriors on the board with a 41-yard field goal. Keiser evened the score with a field goal of their own. Keiser then grabbed three more touchdowns to end the quarter 24-3.
The second quarter saw Jaren Muse force a Keiser punt, giving Webber the ball with just under five minutes left. Keiser managed two more touchdowns to make it 38-3. Tackles by Jaren Muse, Tre' Mobley, Kayden Hill, Jalan Williams, Caden Morrell, and Antonio Johnson forced a Keiser punt, setting up Webber for first and ten from the WIU20. The final drive of the half was a two yard rush from Jordan Griffin. 
The second half opened with a touchdown for the Seahawks making it 45-3 with under 10 minutes in the quarter. Blake Birchler connected with DJ Cloude for 19 yards to give the Warriors a first down. A pass to Avery Giddens and another rush by Griffin made it first-and-ten from the KU49. A pass interference call on Keiser gave the Warriors the first down on the KU14 yard-line. A 14-yard catch by Richard Dunbar IV is just what the Warriors needed to change the momentum. A extra point by Riley Robbins went through the up-rights making it 45-10 to end the third quarter. 
The fourth quarter saw two more Seahawk touchdowns making it 59-10 with 10 minutes left in the game. A tackle by Josiah Everett made it 2nd and 9, before a stop by Tyron Washington and Sean Major called for a Keiser field goal. Pressure by the Webber defense forced it to go wide right - keeping the score 59-10. Taylor Scarbrough then had three rushed for 36 yards to put the Warriors in Seahawks territory. A Birchler 25-yard rush made it into the endzone for another Warrior touchdown. The extra point, kicked by Robbins, was up and good - making it 59-17 to end the game.
Webber will be back next Saturday, November 11th as they are set to take on SUNC rival Warner University in the Crooked Lake Clash. It will also be homecoming and senior night, so make sure you check out Eventbrite to purchase your tickets.
