BRUNSWICK, Ga. (February 11, 2022) – The Webber International University women's basketball team traveled to the College of Coastal Georgia, to face the Mariners for the second time this season on Thursday evening. The Warriors completed the season sweep in a 70-53 victory on the road.

The Warriors (18-5 overall, 10-3 SUN) shot 42.9 percent from the field in total as well as 42.9 percent from three-point range. Webber's defense did well to hold Coastal Georgia (7-17, 3-11) to a field goal percentage of 33.3 percent and 23.8 percent from beyond the arc.

It was a slow start to the game as there was only six total points scored between both teams halfway through the first quarter. The Warriors would head into the second quarter ahead by two at 12-10. After a slow offensive start, Webber picked it up in the second quarter shooting a much improved 45 percent.
Amaya Small led the way scoring nine of the Warriors' 23 points in the second quarter. Webber extended its lead heading into halftime, ahead of the Mariners 35-21.

Starting the second half, the Warriors would pick up right where they left off offensively. They would score 25 points in the third quarter on a very impressive 76.9 percent shooting from the field. The Warriors led from start to finish in the game and would lead by as many as 26 points.

Samantha Pacheco would lead the team with 12 total points to go with her six rebounds and two assists. She was followed closely behind by Small and
Jaida Burgess each with 11 points. Small would also lead the team with seven rebounds.
LeAndra Franklin would finish the game with seven points, six assists, four rebounds, and two steals.
Rushell Jacob had six points, five rebounds, and added a block and a steal defensively in her 22 minutes of action.

The Warriors will now return home as they host Thomas University on Saturday, February 12th, at 2 p.m.
