Box Score MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (October 27, 2022) - The Webber International University women's soccer team traveled to St. Thomas University for its penultimate match of the season. A strong second half from the Bobcats saw them take the 4-0 victory over the Warriors.

The Warriors (8-3-2 overall, 2-3-2 SUN) struggled to get anything going offensively as St. Thomas' (6-6-2, 2-3-1) defense stood firm, only allowing two shots on goal. In comparison, the Bobcats fired off a total of 18 shots, 11 of which were on target. St. Thomas was receiving votes in the most recent NAIA Top-25 polls.

The first on-target shot of the match came through Webber as a shot from Becky Wilkins needed saving by the Bobcats goalie. Roughly three and a half minutes later, St. Thomas opened the scoring with its first goal of the match to take an early 1-0 lead. There were only two more shots for the remainder of the half, both of which came from the Bobcats and were saved by Cameron Laine in net.

The majority of the second half was dominated by the Bobcats as they scored two goals less than five minutes apart in the 54th and 58th minutes of the match. The only other shot for the Warriors came from Kayle De Leon in the 68th minute but it too was saved. St. Thomas scored once more in the 71st minute to put the match beyond all reasonable doubt and seal the victory.

The Warriors will now prepare for their regular-season finale against Crooked Lake rivals, Warner University, on Saturday, October 29th at 5 p.m. in Lake Wales, Florida. Webber then looks to the Sun Conference tournament which will begin on Saturday, November 5th.
