Warriors Celebrating 20 Years of Webber Football on Homecoming Weekend

10/20/2022 2:47:00 PM

BABSON PARK, Fla. (October 20, 2022) – The Webber International University football team will be celebrating 20 years of Webber football with a whiteout game against Florida Memorial University for homecoming weekend on Saturday, October 22nd at 1:30 p.m.

Fans attending this weekend's game are encouraged to wear white to celebrate both homecoming weekend and 20 years of Webber football.

Webber International had its inaugural football season in 2002. Current Head Coach Eric Potochney was part of that inaugural team as a linebacker. In those 20 years, the Warriors have had 17 All-Americans and three Honorable Mention All-Americans as well as one conference championship in 2014.

"We are excited to celebrate 20 years of football here at Webber", said Potochney. "This football program has been able to change the lives of so many student-athletes in that time period. Starting football at Webber also played a huge role in showing other small universities in the state how important small college football is to our student-athletes. Now, the state of Florida is able to provide the opportunity to up and coming high school football players to stay in state with Webber playing a key role in beginning that process. The great thing about Webber is the lifelong friendships our student-athletes make while attending our university. We are excited to have our alumni back on campus this weekend and are anxious for the future development of our university, athletic department, and football program."

Warrior Nation, come show your appreciation and support at this weekend's football matchup against the Lions on the Warrior Turf Field and do not forget to wear white!
