Warriors end in 2-2 draw against Crooked Lake rivals

Box Score LAKE WALES, Fla. (September 15, 2021) - The Webber International University women's soccer team kept their undefeated season in check as they battled their Crooked Lake rival, Warner University, ending in a 2-2 draw on Monday night.
 
The Warriors (3-0-1 overall) would strike first as in the ninth minute, junior transfer Versailles Clark, received a pass from Deborah Guillen and scored to take the 1-0 lead.  The Warriors would hold the lead over the Royals (2-3-1) all the way into halftime.
 
The Royals came out of the break and put two goals on the board just one minute apart from each other. In the 58th minute Sophia Raby scored on a pass from Maddie Manzke and Emma Marshall found the net in the 59th minute after a pass from Mary Doell.
 
The Warriors were forced to play down a player after receiving a red card in the 68th minute.
 
Battling to the end, the Warriors relied on the boot of junior Faith Cullen-Cooper. She lined up a free kick from 35 yards out in the 88th minute of play and put it past the goalkeeper to level the game at two each.
 
Both teams would battle through two scoreless overtime periods, ultimately ending in a 2-2 draw.
 
The Warriors return to action this weekend as they host the Barons of Brewton-Parker College for their home-opener on Saturday, September 18, at 1 p.m. on the Warrior Grass Field.
