BABSON PARK, Fla. (February 20, 2021) – In what was the Warriors' first Spring game this season, the Webber International University women's volleyball team battled back from down two sets to zero to force a fifth set before ultimately falling 3-2 (25-19, 25-22, 19-25, 21-25, 15-9) against Florida College inside the Sabbagh Athletic Center.

It was the second loss during the 2020-21 campaign for Webber (4-12 overall) against Florida College (5-5) after the Warriors also fell to the Falcons by a score of 3-2 at home back on September 22, 2020, breaking Webber's four-game winning streak at the time.

Svenja Koenig led the Warriors with eight kills while Nadia Reid recorded seven kills, 16 digs and five service aces. Nora Burgos-Heredia had six kills while Amanda Vega dished out 22 assists, had 10 digs and matched Reid with five aces.

In all, Reid and Vega were one of four Warriors to reach double-digits in digs as Kayce Kavanaugh added 13 digs and Gabriela Lopez matched Vega with 10. Additionally, Yanileb Figueroa finished with nine digs.

In the deciding fifth set, Webber led 4-0 before seven straight points by the Falcons put the final momentum in Florida College's favor.

Webber's Head Coach Gretchen Hand said, "Our athletes are moving in the right direction. It's always exciting to play Florida College. We will look to build on our offense in the weeks to come."

Next up for Webber will be a tri-match on Wednesday, March 10, inside the Sabbagh Athletic Center as the Warriors host Columbia International University at 11 a.m. followed by Florida National University at 3 p.m.
