COLUMBIA, S.C. (November 9, 2021) – The Webber International University women's basketball team traveled to Columbia, South Carolina to match up against the Columbia International Rams on Monday afternoon in the Moore Fitness Center, resulting in a 74-69 victory for the Warriors.

Despite being slightly outrebounded by the Rams (1-2 overall, 1-0 AAC) 48-41, the Warriors (3-0, 0-0 SUN) defense was swarming, forcing the opposition into 25 turnovers in the game. Webber outscored the Rams 24-14 in points off turnovers and 32-20 in points in the paint.

Heading into the fourth quarter, the Warriors trailed by five points at 58-53. Webber held the Rams to just under a 19% field goal percentage in the quarter while shooting 41% from the field themselves and 83% from the charity stripe. The Warriors outscored the Rams 21-11 in the final quarter to earn the 74-69 victory.

Eletra Graham was electric off the bench and the Warriors main source of scoring as she finished with 19 points in 14 minutes played. Graham shot just over 63% in the game including converting five of her seven shots from downtown. She was followed by
Amaya Small with 10 points and
Jaida Burgess with nine.

Seven of Burgess' nine total points came in a crucial fourth quarter that pushed Webber over the finish line.

Small led the Warriors with three steals on the defensive end while
Deja King,
LeAndra Franklin,
Alexandria Lemmon and Burgess all added two steals each.
Triniti Lee was also a force on defense, collecting four of the team's seven total blocks while
Rushell Jacob had two of her own. Lee added eight points and led Webber with six rebounds.

Webber now travels to Ave Maria University on Thursday, November 11, to battle the Gyrenes (2-3 overall) at 5:30 p.m., in what will be the Sun Conference opener for both teams.
