TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. (November 3, 2021) – A tough scoring night for the Webber International University men's basketball team, scoring just 53 points on 32% shooting from the field. The Warriors fell 79-53 to the Florida College Falcons in what was their first away game of the season.
The Falcons (3-0 overall) finished the game with a 45.5% shooting percentage while four players reached double-digit scoring. The Warriors however, had just one player reach double-digit scoring in the game.
The Warriors were down by nine points at the half and were able to improve offensively in the second half. The Falcons improved in the second half as well, however, shooting an impressive 51% and extending their lead.
Jaylon Myles ended with 13 points on 50% shooting, scoring three of his five attempted three-pointers. He was followed by
Terrence Lakes and
Gabriel Divic with eight points a piece and
Jordan Golden with seven. Golden shot 75% from the field and led the Warriors with eight rebounds.
Loro Natana ended the game with a stat line of six points, five rebounds, and a block.
Webber will now return home to face Voorhees College (S.C.) on Friday, November 5, at 7:30 p.m. inside the Sabbagh Athletic Center. The Warriors then travel to Ave Maria University for their first Sun Conference game on November 11.
