Warriors lose 4-1 in season finale against Thomas University

THOMASVILLE, Ga. (October 30, 2021) – The Webber International University women's soccer team concluded its 2021 regular season on Saturday afternoon after a 4-1 road defeat to the Nighthawks of Thomas University.

Thomas (8-9 overall, 3-6 SUN) was all over the Warriors (10-5-1, 4-5) in terms of shots, with 23-13. The Night Hawks more than doubled Webber's number of efforts on target at 13-6 as well.

It would take the Night Hawks just under four minutes to collect their first goal of the match after a strike from Jana Pastorek. In the 9th minute, Brazil Clark would drive down the side of the pitch and whip in a cross that her sister, Versailles Clark, would get on the end of to equalize for the Warriors.

That would be the only time Webber would find the back of the net in the match however. Thomas would score in the 30th minute to lead 2-1 at halftime. Two more goals from the Night Hawks in the second half would seal the defeat for the Warriors.

V. Clark and Leah Hockenberry led Webber offensively each with three shots, two of which were on target. Natalie Bartek would spend all 90 minutes in goal, making nine saves in total for the match.

The Warriors will now transition to the postseason as they look forward to The Sun Conference tournament. Webber will be the sixth seed in the tournament and match up against Southeastern University in the opening quarterfinal round on November 6.
