BABSON PARK, Fla. (October 29, 2021) – It was Senior Day inside the Sabbagh Athletic Center for the Webber International University women's volleyball team as they hosted the first-place team in The Sun Conference, St. Thomas University. The Warriors were progressively more competitive as the match went on, but ultimately fell to the Bobcats 3-0 (25-19, 26-24, 30-28).
The Bobcats (18-6 overall, 10-2 SUN) are receiving votes in the latest NAIA polls. Webber (11-14, 2-10) was competitive in every set but was unable to capture a set.
The Warriors honored four of their seniors before the match which included
Kayce Kavanaugh,
Lana Varkentina,
Camryn Brown, and
Emily Bowen.
Kavanaugh led the Warriors defensively, finishing the match with 18 digs, good for her second-highest in a single match this season.
Bailey Sikkema followed behind her finishing with seven digs while adding five kills.
Teodora Ranitovic had four total blocks in the match, three of which were solo.
Nadia Reid led the Warriors in terms of kills with seven followed by
Savanna Wilhite with six.
Ana Clara Araujo finished with 11 assists followed by Brown with eight.
The Warriors have two games left in the regular season, the first of which will be their final home match as they host the Southeastern Fire on Wednesday, November 3, at 7 p.m. Finally, Webber will travel to Warner University to face its Crooked Lake rival for the season finale on Saturday, November 6.
