BABSON PARK, Fla. (October 18, 2021) – The Webber International University women's volleyball team hosted the Gyrenes of Ave Maria University inside the Sabbagh Athletic Center Saturday afternoon, resulting in a 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 27-25) defeat for the Warriors.
The Warriors (10-11 overall, 1-7 SUN) battled closely with the Gyrenes (14-7, 6-3) in the first and third sets, however, Ave Maria was still able to see out their third win in a row.
Offensively the Warriors were led by
Savanna Wilhite and
Lily Arnold each with eight kills. They were followed by
Bailey Sikkema with seven kills and
Emily Bowen and
Teodora Ranitovic each with five.
Ana Clara Araujo and
Amanda Vega were dishing out the assists for Webber with 18 and 16 respectively.
Kayce Kavanaugh led the team defensively with 13 digs followed by Vega with eight and
Kiersten Tisdale with six.
The Warrior's next match will be on Wednesday, October 20, at 7 p.m. against the College of Coastal Georgia. It will be a Pinkout night inside the Sabbagh Athletic Center in support of breast cancer awareness.
