MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (October 12, 2021) – The Webber International University women's soccer team matched up against the Lions of Florida Memorial this past Saturday afternoon, ending in a 4-0 victory for the Warriors. It was Webber's sixth-straight win and third Sun Conference win in a row.

The only goal in the first half would come from
Versailles Clark who would score after a pass off of a free-kick from
Hannah Vigotty. It was close in terms of shots in the first half as the Warriors (9-0-1 overall, 3-0-0 SUN) would outshoot the Lions (0-9-0, 0-5-0) only slightly, 3-2.

The Warriors would find their footing offensively in the second half, firing off nine total shots. A solo effort from V. Clark in the 74th minute would double the Warrior's lead. That goal would ultimately open the flood gates as
Hayden Rupe would score off of a pass from
Emilie Velez in the 81st minute. Seven minutes later,
Briceyda Gomez would score a solo goal to extend the lead to four, and seal the match for the Warriors.

The Warriors' defensive back-line was solid throughout the match only giving up one shot on goal that would be saved by goalie
Natalie Bartek. Bartek and the Webber defense would earn the shutout for the match.

Next up, Webber returns home as it hosts the University of South Carolina Beaufort on Thursday, October 14, at 12 p.m. on the Warrior Grass Field. It will be back-to-back home matches as they then host SCAD Savannah on Saturday, October 16.
