Then, Webber's hero at the plate in game one, Moss, entered to pitch with one out in the top of the sixth in game two and shut down the opposition by not allowing a single hit and walking only one batter through the final 1.2 innings.
Webber's Head Softball Coach
Kristy Burton said following the sweep, "We were really proud of the girls today. We had a tough weekend and seeing them come out today with passion and pride for this program was a blessing. As a team we have had to overcome a lot of adversity and today we showed that against a very good Cumberlands program. They gave us our first loss of the season a few weeks back and our girls were hungry for revenge. We are incredibly proud of Dariyen for coming up big for us in the bottom of the seventh for the first game but overall, today was a team win. We finished up the nonconference part of our season 17-5 and are very excited to get back on the field to start conference at home this Wednesday against Thomas."
Next up for Webber softball will be the start of official Sun Conference play for the Warriors as they host Thomas University at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, at
Nancy Nichols Field.
