Webber beach volleyball starts inaugural TSC slate with two sweeps

BABSON PARK, Fla. (March 7, 2020) – The Webber International University beach volleyball team earned two sweeps in its first two Sun Conference matches of the 2020 season, which is the first official competitive beach volleyball season for the league. The Warriors defeated St. Thomas University and Florida Memorial University by both scores of 5-0 during the Webber Quadrangular on Saturday at the Webber Campus Beach Volleyball Courts.

The Warriors are now on a four-match winning streak are and 6-3 overall on the season in addition to being 2-0 in The Sun Conference.

COACH'S CORNER: "I am really proud of our team's dominating performance today," spoke Webber's Head Beach Volleyball Coach Jessica Gehrke-Hauptmann. "I felt we were able to execute our game plan efficiently and we will use this momentum going into next week."

Next Up: Next weekend, Webber will compete in the Beach Burrow Bash, hosted by NCAA Division-I Florida Atlantic University, in Boca Raton, Florida. In all, the Warriors will battle four NCAA D-I programs, beginning with the University of North Carolina Wilmington at 11 a.m. and Florida Gulf Coast University at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 13, followed by Austin Peay State University at 1 p.m. and FAU at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 14.
