BABSON PARK, Fla. (February 23, 2020) – On Saturday, February 22, the Webber International University men's and women's tennis teams hosted their third consecutive Sun Conference match and fourth straight match overall on the Webber Campus Tennis Courts. In the end, the Lady Warriors won both one doubles match and one singles match but fell by a score of 6-1 while the Webber men's team won one doubles match but was swept 7-0.

Otis Cutshaw said, "The teams continue to fight and compete looking for their first win of the season. We still have a lot of matches left to our season which we can win, but it's going to continue to take maximum effort. We have four matches coming up this week where we will regroup and try again."

Doubles
Singles
- Jenna Fosdick dominated her match at No. 3 singles, winning it 6-1, 6-1 to improve to 3-3 in singles matches on the year. Fosdick is currently the only Warrior on the women's side with more than one win in singles matches so far this season.
- Svenja Koenig played to a third-set super tiebreaker at No. 4 singles, but ultimately she came up short 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-5).
- Webber women's tennis fell to 0-6 overall and 0-5 in The Sun Conference while St. Thomas improved to 1-5 and 1-4 with what was its first win of the season.
Notable Men's Results:
Doubles
- Just like it did on the women's side, the Webber men's tennis team earned a win at No. 2 doubles as Matthew Alexander and Marc Schneider were victorious by a score of 6-4.
- That was however, the lone bright spot on the afternoon for the men's team as the Warriors forfeited the No. 3 doubles spot yet again while at No. 1 doubles, Cyrille de Hollain made his season debut by teaming up with Ivan Bondarenko, where they were swept 6-0.
Singles
- The Warriors did battle to three three-set matches on the men's side as Ivan Bondarenko lost 6-3, 0-6, 7-5 at No. 2 singles, Matthew Alexander won his first set but fell 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 at No. 3 singles, and Marc Schneider lost 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (10-7) in a third-set super tiebreaker at No. 4 singles.
- The match also featured two Warriors making their season debuts as Cyrille de Hollain fell 6-2, 6-0 in the top spot while Orian Burzic lost 6-0, 6-0 in the fifth position during what was his first ever tennis match at Webber after previously playing soccer.
- Webber fell to 0-6 overall and 0-5 in The Sun Conference while St. Thomas earned its second win of the season at 2-5 overall and 2-3 in conference matches.
Next Up: The Webber men's and women's tennis teams will travel to Southeastern University, which is ranked No. 21 in the NAIA on the women's side and is receiving votes on the men's side, for a 1 p.m. match on Wednesday, February 26. The Warriors will then play two nonconference matches on Thursday, Februray 27, at the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona, Florida, before the women host another nonconference opponent, Grace College (Ind.), on Saturday, February 29.
