BABSON PARK, Fla. (February 20, 2020) – During Senior Night on Thursday inside the Sabbagh Athletic Center, the Webber International University men's basketball team defeated the College of Coastal Georgia by 20, 89-69, in an important battle of two of the three teams tied for sixth place in The Sun Conference men's basketball standings.

Chetachukwu Oliver, No. 5
Malik Morrow and No. 14
Kevin Grace.
Morrow finished with 10 points on the night and added five rebounds while Oliver had six points and eight boards.
Junior
Tommie Luke finished with a game-high 22 points and added seven assists, five rebounds and three steals; junior
Jaylon Myles had 19 points on 4-of-8 shooting from 3-point range while also adding three assists; and another junior,
Rasheem Etienne, had 12 points on perfect 4-for-4 shooting from the field and 3-for-3 shooting from three while also matching Myles with three assists.
In all, five different Warriors dished out at least two assists, including freshman
Javonni Quince with nine points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and four steals. Another freshman,
Kris Goettert, also had nine points and added six rebounds as five Warriors had at least five boards.
Despite both teams shooting at least 50 percent from the field in the second half, Webber shot a very effective 55 percent and was even better from 3-point range at 57.14 percent (8-14).
In all, the Warriors sank 12 3-points in the contest and were 48 percent (12-25) from long range compared to 25 percent (7-28) shooting from three for the Mariners. It was the fifth time this season Webber has hit 12 or more 3-pointers in a game and was the 11th time the Warriors reached double-digit three's.
Webber led by as much as 13 points in the first half and went up by 16 just over four minutes into the seoncd half on a jumper by Myles to make it a 45-29 Warrior advantage.
However, Coastal Georgia cut the margin down to seven at 47-40 with just under 11 minutes left to play following an 11-2 Mariners' run.
After a 3-pointer by Coastal Georgia's Jaylen Smallwood made it a five-point game at 56-51 with 8:28 remaining, the Warriors answered with 11 straight points and a 14-2 run in all to go ahead by 17 at 70-53 with five and a half minutes left to play and all but put the game out of reach. The run featured two 3-pointers each by Etienne and Myles.
With the win, Webber improved to 14-14 overall and 7-10 in The Sun Conference and strengthened its postseason chances with only one game left in the regular season while Coastal Georgia fell to 13-16 and 6-11. The 14 wins overall are the Warriors' most during a single season under third-year Head Coach
Allen Corbin while the seven TSC wins are tied for the most wins in conference play for Webber during Corbin's tenure.
Webber's final game of the 2019-20 regular season will take place on the road at 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, at Thomas University. In the first meeting between the Warriors and the Night Hawks earlier this year on January 16, which was an 84-79 overtime victory for Webber at home, both Quince and Myles recorded double-doubles while Luke scored a game-high 24 points.
