BABSON PARK, Fla. (December 17, 2020) – For the second straight game, the Webber International University men's basketball team suffered a season sweep against its opponent as this time, the Warriors fell 79-61 at home against Florida College inside the Sabbagh Athletic Center.
Webber (5-9 overall) was led in scoring by
Rasheem Etienne with 14 points. Etienne also added four assists and three steals.
Next in scoring was
Eddie Davis with 12 points on 5-for-7 shooting to go along with seven rebounds.
Kris Goettert had nine points and 12 rebounds, and
George Davey and
Jaylon Myles also both had nine points.
After Webber stayed within two possessions of the Falcons for the duration of the first half, Florida College (9-3) opened up the second half on a big 15-2 run to go ahead by 18 at 51-33 with 15 and a half minutes left to play.
Florida College took advantage of 19 Warrior turnovers and outscored Webber 20-8 in points off turnovers, and also held a 13-6 rebound on the offensive glass to outscore the Warriors 15-8 in second chance points.
Tomorrow on Friday, December 18, the Warriors will play at NCAA Division-I Florida Gulf Coast University in an exhibition game at 7 p.m. Then, Webber's third game in three days will be on Saturday, December 19, against Ecclesia College.
