Women’s soccer concludes regular season at No. 4 Southeastern

LAKELAND, Fla. (November 7, 2020) – The Webber International University women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision in its 2020 regular-season finale on the road at No. 4 Southeastern University on Saturday night at the SEU Soccer Field.

Brook O'Hagan made her first appearance of the season in goal for the Warriors, but after the Fire scored the first goal of the match less than five minutes in, Southeastern scored again late in the first half and then made it 3-0 with a goal less than a minute into the second half.

In all, O'Hagan finished with four saves and faced 18 shots overall.

The Webber offense, meanwhile, did not have its first shot of the match until the final five seconds of the opening half with Leah Borders tried to do it all herself and finished with a shot over the crossbar.

Webber did have back-to-back corner kicks by Dayne Ford in the seventh minute of the match.

Then in the 61st minute, Southeastern goalkeeper Holly Eddins had to make back-to-back saves on shots from Zoe Melo and Deborah Guillen, resulting in the only shots on goal of the match for the Warriors.

Webber finished its regular season 4-8-1 overall and 2-8 in The Sun Conference while SEU remained undefeated on the year at 11-0 and 9-0 to win the conference regular-season championship.

The annual TSC Women's Soccer tournament is currently scheduled to begin on Saturday, November 14, with the quarterfinal round. Although no official announcement has been made, it looks like the seventh-seeded Warriors will battle the second-seeded Seahawks of Keiser University in the opening round.
